Hi Mary, I can't see any connection at the moment. I have only one Robert Patton and he was born Ballycastle in 1876. His was the 2nd youngest son of James Patton and Ellen Kirkpatrick who married 3 Aug 1866 at Croagbeg presbyterian. James on his marriage record is listed as bring resident in Ballyoglagh and Ellen Kirkpatrick from Lisbellanagroagh. They seem to have had there children in the Ballycastle/Ballintoy area. I know very little about my Patton's, I know James's father was a Labourer called John Patton and James his son must have been born around 1845 (very approx). James, Ellen and there youngest Alexander signed there names (im 99%sure it's them) on the Ulster Covenant at Dunsverick Orange Hall and can only assume the family where in that area at that point. Although there eldest son John was in Govan, Glasgow from atleast 1890 as was one of there other son's Thomas (my grt grandfather) who was first recorded in Scotland/Glasgow in 1900. Regards Morag
Hi Morag, Sorry I am late replying to your e-mail. As you say it would seem unlikely that there is a connection between the Robert Patton that married one of my ancestors and yours as mine were married in the R.C. Church. Thank you for replying it was appreciated. Mary. _____
