    3. Several Tidbits to Gordon, Pam, etc. Re Parks....was it the name of a House? I have Margaret Stevenson living at Parks. I also have Parks at Greenhill, Farm. Mr. Wilson was listed as the occupant of both in 1849. Gordon refers to Galgorm as a property, whereas I think it is a townland. Margaret Stevenson is listed as living at Gloonan, Ballyminstra, Galgorm, The Parke. My John and Mary Stevenson had a shop, probably in Ballymena in 1848, but prior to that they lived at Galgorm. Re Churches: I have a letter in 1978 from Moravian Manse, 25 Church Road, Gracehill, Ballymena BT42 2NL. Partly...."we are the only Church in the Galgorm area and have been since our Church was founded here in 1759. The name 'Moravian' Church may sound strange to you, but it is just a simple Protestant Church which began in Cechoslovakia in 1457." People from Gracehill, Cardonaghan, Greenhill, Gloonan attended this church. The registers from 1759 were in the church in 1978, so not burned or destroyed in 'the fires'. There was also a Moravian School, with student lists, also available through the rector. There is a Gracehill Cemetery, as well as an Old Ahoghill cemetery, and headstones' info is available from "History from Headstones" Other churches in the neighbourhood (sorry, I didn't always mark the denomination): ? Presb or C of I Old Galgorm Road High Kirk Manse Old Church on High Street, Ballymena 1st Ballymena Presb.,Meetinghouse Lane, Ballymena (records to 1837) West Church, 3 Grange Rd.,Ballymena Ahoghill Presb Church Presb Church, Connor, Kells (records to 1658) Wellington St Church, 48 Moorfields Road (from 1828) Presbyterian Church in Ireland, Church House, Fishwick lace, Belfast, Ireland If you type Presbyterian churches Ireland into Google you will get their home site. I am sure they would be able to help as to what is available but you could also try http://www.nidex.com/churches.htm. Addresses for Church of Ireland churches from Representative Church Body, Braemar Park, Dublin (try google for online address) I'm assuming you have also checked Griffiths, flax rolls, etc. If you find any STEVENSON, please let me know! 3. O you are a font of info. Yes you are correct that I am mis-using the proper term, but I do that all the time, yes Glagorm was a townland, I confess!!!! Now I will fowl up you mind. In Pennsylvania they use the terminology of "Township" (where no ships are in sight!!). So for example Greencastle, Pa. is listed as: Greencastle, Bourgh of, Antrim Township, Franklin County, Pennsylvania. Now isn't that a mouthfull!!I am off for research tomorrow (actually to badger friends and pick their minds). What I need is some genius to say here Gordon are the e mail addresses of ALL of the Protestant church with Ahoghill Townland, so that I can bug them for their old records. Here is one for you which you will enjoy.Little by little I have been photographing and recording all of the old churches in Franklin Co., Pa. as such I was looking for Mt. Zion Church and cemetery which goes back into the 1700's. After getting lost several times (I am good at that) I found the entrance to the cemetery and there was a house with lots of people in the back yard. One look at them made me think they were Mennonites, so I got out of my car to talk to them and a "Elder" came over to talk to me, they were German Baptists and are between Amish and Mennonites (in strictness) Bet you never heard of them. 3. Gordon, Pam, and others: For your general information, Galgorm has been a townland in the Parish of Ahoghill since 1569 when it was associated with Galgorm Castle. Galgorn means blue/black rock or castle. Galgorm Parks is a hybrid name of the manor of Fortesque with 1000 acres in demesne. It was first established in 1618. This is supposed to have been a grant in 1618 to Sir Faithful Fortesque, a nephew of Sir William Chichester, Lord Deputy of Ireland. One of its original names was Deerpark of Galgorm. 3. Frank: I pretty much know all of this, what I was trying to find out is if there were any tenant records. According to PRONI there aren't which seems a little strange to me as there is considerable info available on the Colville's the 2nd owners and the period of time that I am interested in 1660-1720, so I am trying to see if there are any possible local Protestant (Presbyterian) church records for that period of time.
