    3. Ruth, I have a Robert Wilson, supposedly from Carnmoney, who went to Charlestown, S. Carolina, USA, before 1767. His sister had married Mathew Shanks by 1760 in Carnmoney area and they had a son James, in 1767 they left from Belfast for Charlestown, S. Carolina, USA and according to some stories she died enroute. James was about 4 according to the land given to his father and him for settling. Robert's will left part of his estate to James. Any thing greatly appreciated. 3. I've been working on my gggrandmother's family for 15 years and it's hard going. This might help you. My gggrandmother was Charlotte Bell, born in 1800 in Belfast, father, John Bell. I found a list of lots of siblings at a local LDS library, but unfortunately we recently moved and my genealogy files are in a mess. I'll try to find it and see if there is a Mary among them. Charlotte married John McKean in ??, and my ggreatgrandfather was born in Belfast in 1832. He had an older brother, James and a sister whose name is unknown at present (perhaps Margaret). The children all emigrated to the U.S. in the 1850s or thereabout...some earlier than others. It makes it harder that Bell is a very common name in Northern Ireland. Oh yes, Charlotte's brother, Robert, was a sea captain.
