. Could you put me on the right path for the Armstrong's. My grandfather came from a town in Ireland called Five Mile Town. We always thought it was a town 5 miles out of town but have found out it is actually a town in Antrim County. His family lived on an estate where they cared for the wealthy owners dogs. Being the oldest son he would have inherited the position. However, his dad passed when grandpa was 14 and the owner felt he was to young to take on the position so they lost their happy home. As far as we know he came to this country when he was about 17/18. He settled in MA. He married Susan who was, we think, 4 years his senior. He worked going from house to house stoking peoples furnaces in the early mornings. He passed away in MA in 1955/56. His name was William F. Armstrong. We think the F stood for Francis?? They had four children, Gordon, William, Leonard and Lavinia who passed away at age 16/17. William and Susan Armstrong left Ireland, in 1889. William became naturalized in 1897. And they lived in Boston, Massachusetts Any help would be appreciated. .Scott
