Hello everyone, I am looking for a William White b. 10 Dec 1856 in Antrim. Until now I've always thought he was born in the Ballycarry area. I have written to two Presbyterian ministers in the town, but neither have a record of him in thier baptism records. His daughter Gertrude Maude White was baptised in a Non-Subscribing Presbyterian church in Holywood, Down, so I am breaking all the rules by assuming he belonged to the non-subscribing church. His father's name was Edward White and his mother's maiden name is said to have been Beggs. I don't know anything else about her. His father was a farmer in Ballycarry. He was educated in Belfast. Married Agnes Jane Carleton in Newtownards, Down, January 1879. Dn't have a marriage record either, that's the next thing I'm going to hunt down, hopefully it will have his parents' names. He had three children in Ireland; Robert Victor b. Cardy, Down Dec 1879, where Agnes was from; Edith Adelaide b. Belfast 1882; Gertrude Maude b. 5 Nov 1884. I have little information of the family after the arrived in New Zealand, but I have even less of them in Ireland. Carleton side has been a bit easier though. Any information or suggestions of where to look next would be greatly appreciated. My hopes (and probably thousands of others hopes) is to find where in Antrim Co. my Jacksons came from. They were in Halton County, Ontario Canada at least by the early 1830's and if death records are to be believed, then very possibly between 1813-1816. Death records for one of the children list Antrim for place of birth. Here are the names and the children I've been able to list. Thanks!
