Well, in that case I'm at a loss to know what the problem can have been - in my experience the Family History Centre staff have asked me to fill in a copy request, I've done so, paid the (dollar or two) fee and picked up the copy in a week or so. I'd be inclined to say that either you were dealing with inexperienced staff who misunderstood your request or they have changed to a policy of 'no copying'. The LDS have only copied the Irish Deaths and Marriages up until 1870. Births are different and later years have been copied. If you search the Library Catalogue on the LDS site http://www.familysearch.org/ you will be able to see what years have been filmed for Irish BDM's. The LDS can only photocopy from the films they have.
