From: "Mike Boyd" <mikejboyd@bigpond.com> > Unfortunately this source does not say how many other Boyd families there > were in Albany but does mention another family who came direct from Scotland > in 1774, James and Jane Boyd. [NEED TO LIST AS SEPARATE FAMILY CHAPTER - > 3/163] These called the Scotch Boyds while John's family were the Irish > Boyds. In the spring of 1762 John Boyd with his wife Ann Logan and three > children, came to Albany, New York. Mike Boyd:Have you seen the reference in David Dobson's "Scots in New England 1623-1873" to James (in 1741) & John Boyd (in 1751) of Ayrshire being admitted to the Scots Charitable Society? Manuscripts available at New England Historical & Genealogical Society. To List: If you have sub to Ancestry Publications, some of Dobson's books were available to search there. You can get immersed in reading them though! <g> ecunningham@att.net
