In <A HREF="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/England">England</A>, <A HREF="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scotland">Scotland</A> and <A HREF="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ireland">Ireland</A> , William ruled jointly with his wife, <A HREF="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_II_of_England">Mary II</A>, until her death on <A HREF="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/December_28">28 December</A> <A HREF="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1694">1694</A>. He reigned as 'William II' in Scotland, but 'William III' in all his other realms.
