Ontario: The province takes its name from _Lake Ontario_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Ontario) , which in turn is derived from the _Iroquois_ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iroquoian_languages) word Skanadario, meaning "beautiful lake" or "sparkling water".
