You might like to know, Sharon, that if you surf to http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/ you can now [from 22 Dec 2008] search the 1911 Census of Ireland, (Counties Antrim, Down, Dublin, Kerry ONLY - so far) for FREE! On the search page, you can search by names; I *think* you can use 'wildcards' [* character] to search for incomplete names or spelling variations. [Mail me off-list if you need help with 'wildcards'] You can put it 'Antrim' or 'Down' in the county box, to limit the amount returned. On the Search Page, there is a button labelled "Browse Census", which allows you to work from County [eg Antrim], down to DED [Electoral district], down to townland, down to street (if any), down to households. You can get output as [typed] transcripts or as [manuscript] page images of the original forms, (with more detail than the transcripts). All for FREE! Best offer on any online census I've ever seen! Happy New Year and Good Luck with your search. Brian in mild, sunny England
