Marie, I "do" the Ches(t)nut families of North Antrim. No marriage of Hanna Chesnut with James Fleming in my files. Not surprising given the lack of records from the early 1800s. The flax growers' bounty list of 1796 has just one Fleming in County Antrim. John Fleming in Racavan Parish.The flax growers' list is a very small precentage of the actual population. Racavan is quite a bit south of Ballycastle. The agricultural "census" of 1803 lists: Edward Fleming of Islandboy townland in Grange of Drumtullagh. Drumtullagh is a small distance south of Ballycastle and is home to many Chestnut families - including one of my lots. The only village in Drumtullagh is Mosside. I have put the North County Antrim Flemings given as Titheable persons in the Tithe Applotments of 1823-38 at the end. Again, this list is far from complete. There are also Chestnut families in both Ballyrashane and Ballymoney Parishes. I remember Fleming families who used to live near the harbour at Portrush. I think I have photographs of some of them.
