I don't think the maps are still up on the site, but in case they are there somewhere, the way to recognise a dodgy map is to look at the pattern of numbering. If the numbers on the map are 'symmetric' - numbered 1 2 3 ... across or down etc - they are wrong. Island Magee is an example of this as it is numbered from south to north. Another thing to watch for is that a few have some un-numbered townlands - usually these actually belong in the adjacent parish. They are fairly inconsistent and so it is hard to be sure which maps are correct. Please feel free to contact me if you are unsure as I have maps showing all of Northern Ireland. (btw if anyone has good [about 1" to the mile or better] townland maps for any other Irish counties I would love to hear from you!). The biggest issue to keep in mind however, is that Proni follows Griffith and so is only relevant for records post about 1860 - the biggest changes occurred in the north east and so be particularly careful using their lists in Down, Antrim and Derry.
