It is a long shot, but I am trying to track down my Crooks ancestors who may, or may not, have roots in Antrim. Robert Crooks and Jane (Jain, Janet) Turnbull were married in Lilliesleaf Scotland on March 10, 1832. They showed up in Ontario, Canada in 1842. The years between are a mystery, but I have reason to believe they came through Antrim on their way to Canada (my records show at least one of their children was born in Ireland), leading me to think they, or at least he, had family there. Robert was born about 1810, whereabouts unknown to me. Any ideas? Possibilities? Lloyd Crooks Winnipeg, Canada
Hi Lloyd On IGI there is a Robert Crooks born 1808 in Raloo Co. Antrim (Near Larne) and died on 28 February 1890 and Buried in Raloo. He Married a Agnes ?(Crooks) about 1831 in Raloo and she died 30 April 1883 also buried in Raloo. They had one son (that I can Find) Andrew Crooks who was born in 1841 Raloo and died 19 February 1923 Buried again in Raloo. Would this tie in with any of your details.
