Re: Crooks The death of William McAlmont on 24 August 1899 at Little Acre, Dalry, Ayrshire, Scotland, shows his wife as AGNES CROOKS. She and her husband, William, were married on 9 May 1854 at Island Magee. It seems very likely that they are part of your family. L. I have found ancestors that sat a while in Quebec (eastern provinces) and then started to move westwards after a few years. They came down the St. Lawrence River and then into Ontario. There are large numbers of records available on the banQ website: www.banq.qc.ca just click the English box in top right corner. Happy hunting.
