My great grandfather, John McCalmont, was born 15 January 1854 and baptised in 1st Larne Presbyterian Church. His parents were James McCalmont and Jane McCullough and he had a brother William, born 6 September 1848 and a sister, Mary, born 12 April 1846. His grandparents on his mother's side were William McCullough and Janet McMeekin and she had a brother, John (this from Jane's death certificate). The family moved to Ayrshire in the 1850's where James, Jane and William McCalmont died. John went to New Zealand and I cannot find Mary, his sister. I would also like to trace the McCulloughs and McMeekins. I know that John McCalmont had 2 McCullough cousins, one named William who I believe went to New Zealand with him and the other is possibly John. Any help would be gratefully received. I would like to help but this piece of information does not lead me any where ? You do not state where you found this information. This fact is both useful in telling other subscribers a suggestion as to where else for them to look and also telling those that are trying to help what research you have already done.
