Hello - I read with interest the names James and Samuel Irvine in your family. I wonder if there could be a connection to the family I am looking for? I have James Ervine, 21, marrying Mary Lyons, 19, on 8 Nov 1851 in Lisburn, County Antrim. The husband's father was Andrew Ervine; the wife's father was James Lyons. They moved to Stirling, Scotland, in the 1850s-60s, where James was a coal miner. When their daughter Anna Irvine married Robert Fisher a witness was Samuel I. Irvine, and they named a son Samuel. The family was: -James Irvine, born c.1830-32, Ireland -Mary [Lyons] Irvine, born c.1834, Ireland -Andrew Irvine, born c.1852, Ireland -Anna/Annie Irvine, born 24 April 1858, Ireland -and Jane, Mary, John, William, born Scotland Thanks, Pete Dady "Hello - Looking for John Irvine family from Carnmoney Parish in Co. Antrim. Had children named James, Gertie, Sallie (Sara?), Maggie (Margaret?) and Samuel. James emigrated to Philadelphia c. 1863 and worked as a coachman for a wealthy Philadelphian. Married Fanny White, also from NI, in late 1870's in Philadelphia. "Believe James' parents may have been John and Elizabeth Irvine as the birthdate of April 6, 1846 and christening parish both match."
Hello - Due to severely limited information, I really don't know anything further than James' brother and sisters' names at this time. My James' children's names were Margaret, Catharine, Fannie and Sarah. Are any of these names in your Irvine tree? The Irvines are certainly the most difficult of any of our family members to locate....it has been and continues to be a daily nightmare Cheryl T/Pete D <[email protected]> wrote: Hello - I read with interest the names James and Samuel Irvine in your family.
