Hi all, My father’s grandfather was Daniel Hardie a Journeyman stonemason and his wife was Mary ( O.N. Brannan.) Family mythology places them in Ballymenney before coming to Glasgow - a mixed marriage some time before 1851. I assume this could be Ballymoney or Ballymena. I have found no Hardys in later records for Ballymoney but a number of BDM’s for Daniel Hardy and other Hardys in and around Ballymena and Ahogill. All of them were after 1860. The spelling seems to have changed in Scotland to Hardie. So far no luck with Brannan’s in either district. I would be pleased to hear from any member who might be researching these families or otherwise has information that might help pin them down. regards Dan Hardie
