Liz What 1861 Census have you looked at for Scotland? And what was the families occupation in Ireland. I understand that quite a number of Irish went to the Ardrossan and Stevenston area and I would not be at all surprised if they did not go to the coal mines east of Kilmarnock as well for work. Then you have the industrial area of Glasgow. Oh when did you pick them up in Scotland and where?
