Thank you. I have access to both the Griffiths and the Tithe Applotments. I have the following from the freeholders list. Do you know if the difference in Parish means it is actually a different place or if the Parish was just different at that time? Freeholders list 1776 - James Mulligan, Drummaul - Killyfad 1776 - William Mulligan - Gallagh - Cranfield Parish My guess would be finding property records is about the only way to tie Martha to someone in Ireland. -----Original Message----- From: irl-antrim-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:irl-antrim-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of TaggartN@aol.com Sent: Wednesday, November 29, 2006 3:52 PM To: irl-antrim@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [IRL-ANTRIM] Hare, Mulligan Gallagh 270 Antrim Upper Toome Duneane Antrim Ulster Gallagh, the townland, consists of 270 acres in Co Antrim, Barony of Upper Toome, Parish of Duneane, Poor Law Union of Antrim (town), province of Ulster. I am researching the Hare and Mulligan surnames. William Hare and Martha Mulligan are probably from Deneane, Co. Antrim since when Martha dies in 1834 in PA her will says she still has interest in property in Gallagh, Deneane Parish, Co. Antrim. I believe they left Ireland sometime before 1808. Does anyone have a connection to these surnames in this area? Anne Klintworth

Would appreciate a lookup for GRIBBEN in the Ballymacash, Knocknadona, Lisburn area. Also RICE and YOUNG in the Larne area. I have James Rice married to Margaret Young in 1839 in the Larne-Inver Parish. Thanks. Reenie
Hi Nevin I would appreciate it if you could look for Samuel of the above ilk in Broughshane when you have time. Regards the older of the tworobbos at Bairnsdale, gateway to East Gippsland
Hi, Came across this web site that may be of interest. http://www.belfastfamilyhistory.com/ Regards Lorraine
Hello Nevin, If you have the time would you kindly look up William Oliver - possibly Ahoghill and Hugh Walker of Fenaghy. Many thanks, JOHN SHAW BROWNS BAY AUCKLAND NZ.
Yes, I've used this too in the past, just a shame it's not all of Belfast - or even better all of Co. Antrim!! It's a very good site though. Covering 1901 aswell. Slightly off topic - Why is there no plan (as in organised by GRO or library archives) to put these two census's online properly? They would be so helpful to people. lol or is perhaps because it would mean they would make less money - as it would allow people to bypass these family history 'reports' from heritage centres if individual sources of records where more widely (and cheaply) available (Ulster Historical Society excepted - though still much of it is overpriced to my mind - £6 for a baptism record!!). Even just an online index would be good..... Hopefully Irish Origins might do it, though I'm surprised Ancestry hasn't. Perhaps they don't have permission? Anyway I'll stop moaning!! :0>

Thank you so much for the list. I am searching for John or David Stewart's, and there seems to be a lot to choose from. Ha. I have came across so many John's in every search. But I keep on trying. I really believe it will be a David, when I do locate them, as my John b.1835 "In Ireland" tha came to the US about 1850, named his only son "David", therefore it must have been his father's name. We have 5 generations in the US of David Stewart's, We know all of our Stewart's in the US, because of the only one son in the US was our David. Tons of Stewarts in Co Antrim. I'll send a list direct. Nevin
Moore, Samuel Parish : Ahoghill Townland : Lisnafillon Year : 1825 Moore, Samuel Parish : Skerry Townland : Rokeel Year : 1825 Rokeel is the one nearer Broughshane - except I can't find Rokeel. Perhaps it's Rathkeel in the neighbouring parish of Racavan as rath is often pronounced ra .. _http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?lat=54.8671&lon=-6.1706&scale=25000&ic on=x_ (http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?lat=54.8671&lon=-6.1706&scale=25000&icon=x) Nevin
