Kaaron: When you find information in family search it is best to go to the full page of detail. If the bottom of the page references a Batch Number you will find the information was transcribed from actual records. The record can be found in the Family Search centers on microfilm. Other records can reference record numbers, film numbers and page numbers. They could be transcribed incorrectly to give a bad date but for the most part they are pretty reliable. It is those pages that have no references that you have to be cautious. Perhaps someone could explain this more precisely, Mike .

Hi Patricia: Thanks for your quick response, will have to keep digging. Regards, Phyllis
Hi list I have just caught up with the recent exchange of e-mail on the Antrim list re the above. My wife's great grandmother, Jane Moore, came to OZ around 1854, where in April of that year she married James Anderson from Beath, Kinross. Jane, born c. 1826 at Broughshane, was the daughter of Samuel Moore and Elizabeth Phillis (as spelt on Jane's marriage cert - but more likely to have been Fellows). I've been trying to find out more about this family for more than ten years now, without a great deal of success. I have, however, established that Jane's mother - the above Elizabeth - also migrated. She arrived some time around 1857 and her death certificate in October 1858 describes her as a widow. As I can find no trace of Samuel in the Australian records I am assuming that he died prior to Elizabeth's departure. Elizabeth's death certificate names children - Jane, 32; Elizabeth, (age not shown); Hugh, (age not shown); Mary, 25; Alexander 22. It also notes "Two sons dead". I have also from Griffith's Valuation of Ireland 1848-1864: Moore, Samuel County Antrim Parish Racavan Location T/Broughshane Main St but am not sure if this is the same Samuel. Can anyone advise how I might go about delving further into Samuel's ancestry?
