I am interested in the record of the McCullough you included in the list. My John McCullough left Ireland with a son, John McCullough, Jr. born about 1800. I wonder if this could be John, Sr.'s father. Also, my great grandfather, Edward McCullough and his family were Methodist. Edward is the son of John, Jr. Elizabeth Whitten ----- Original Message ----- From: "N.E.Parkes" <N.E.Parkes@btinternet.com> To: <irl-antrim@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, March 14, 2007 1:06 AM Subject: Re: [IRL-ANTRIM] Cullybackey OldMethodistburyingground-Inscriptions A-K > Hi Janette, > > The L-Z surnames at Cullybackey Old Methodist burying ground are below. > > Norman > > LAVERTY (x2) (see also Alexander) > LECKEY > LEE (see Stevenson#3) > LIVINGSTON > LOGAN (x3) > McCLENAGHAN > McCLOY > McCONAGHIE > McCRORY (x2) > McCULLOUGH (see Wiseman) > McDOWELL > McFALL (see Laverty#2) > McKEOWN > McKILLEN (see also Davidson) > McKILLOP > McSEVENEY (see Coleman) > McWILLIAMS > MAXWELL > MILLAR (x2) > MONTGOMERY > MOORE (see also Russell) > MURDOCK > MURRAY > NEELY > NEILEY > O'RAW > ORR (x6) > PETERS > RAINEY (x2) > RICHMOND > ROCK > RUSSELL (see also Coleman) > SANDS > SIMPSON (x2) > SMITH (x2) > SPEERS > STEELE > STEVENSON (x3) > STEWART (x4) > STIRLING (x2) > THOMPSON (x2) > TORRENS (see Kennedy#2) > TURTLE > WALKER (see Johnston) > WATT (see Davidson) > WILKINSON > WILSON (see Buick) > WISEMAN > WYLIE (see Leckey) > > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > IRL-ANTRIM-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the > quotes in the subject and the body of the message > > > -- > No virus found in this incoming message. > Checked by AVG Free Edition. > Version: 7.5.446 / Virus Database: 268.18.10/720 - Release Date: 3/12/2007 > 7:19 PM > >

Soldiers were often signed up that young in the 1900s as well. Betty The PRO in England has soldiers records. You can search through their catalogue on line and some records are WO 97. If you know the regiment your ancestor served in you are ahead of the game as the records are filed according to regiment. If you are in UK you could go there but and not so I employed a researcher who found my great grandfather's papers. Cost me about $50 Australian dollars and I ended up knowing a great deal about him, his age on joining and where he was born, where he served, when he was promoted and when and where he left. It was worth every cent. Jennifer

My g-g-grandfather Daniel Hunter's last address is listed as 5 Harphall. I know Harphall is the townland the family is from... around the Carnlough areas. But I'd love to see where that address is located. I've tried "googling" it and come up with pay-to-view maps, etc. Won't pay for it if I'm not sure it's the correct spot. David, Yes, I've seen this before. It was started by a Johnston lady in northern Ontario who decided to merge her Johnston family into my Johnston family without benefit of a paper trail. I worked furiously on this for 6 months hoping that there was a connection between her Brampton, ON, Johnstons and my Pendleton, ON, Johnstons. Finally I found that she had a Robert Johnston but it wasn't mine. Hers was hiding over in the Toronto area and was born ca. 1809. I've tried several times over the years to get them to make the correction, but as this piece of trash is still posted you can see that I've been unsuccessful. I believe that it has been entered too with the LDS - another miserable circumstance. I appreciate your interest and assistance though. One of these days we'll get lucky! Thank you very much for your efforts. Cliff. Just type in the surname, forename, and townland names without the "County Tyrone" part. The PRONI database is amazing, but the search routine is not so developed just yet. You'll also find an Archibald Johnston in one of the documents--- maybe an uncle or cousin to your Archibald. Then to go further, you might try to find land lease records for the individuals. These are at PRONI, but the records are too vast to be online.
