    2. Thanks Margaret. I had already made contact with The Readers Room and Christie is already on the job. He is based in Gracehill, which is a small village on the edge of Ballymena. May be worth a try for the book you are after. Hope this is of some help. Best wishes. 1. [IRL-ANTRIM] Cullybackey graveyard inscriptions
    2. Ulster3
    3. I just thoughht I'd post a bit about my experience with the Cullybackey inscriptions that Bob had offered to post for everyone... I asked for the inscription for surname GREENWOOD and Bob emailed me the inscription. I found a very nice woman from close to Cullybackey cemetery that took photos of the grave from the inscription. It turned out that there were at least 6 or 7 other Greenwood's buried there. The inscription from Bob's list was just one of the few that do exist! If you have a surname match from the list, it does pay to follow up! There may be others that exist as well. Thanks to Bob for volunteering this information. Genealogy only works WELL when people cooperate. :) Happy St. Pat's ---- Eireann

    2. Thanks for the RAINEY references, Patricia. Randalstown Second Presbyterian Church is a likely location. However, the William Rainey (born Ireland) I've located in the New Orleans census is married to a woman named Mary (also born Ireland). I will keep your William-Jane couples, though, as they may be useful. Harold ************************************** AOL now offers free email to everyone. 2. MJ Bradley
    3. Wendy, My Conaghty is supposedly from Porte Down, Co. Down.. His name Alexander Conaghty (that is how it is spelled on his papers from Scotland). He was born Dec. 22 1863. The family story is that he left Ireland at age 14 and went to Scotland to work. At age 16 he immigrated to the USA and settled in Illinois eventually he ended up in Chicago and married Agnes Wasson who was from Ballymena, Co. Antrim. We know his mother (or step mother) was living in White Abby in the early 1900's and died around 1918. Her name at her time of death was Margaret Marks.. This information is quite new to us so we know very little about the Conaghty's except to say it is not a common name. If you have any information that may shed some light on our Conaghty's I would be extremely grateful. I have letters from 1906 thru 1928 that Agnes Wasson's sisters, mother-in-law and others wrote to her. I am in the process of transcribing them into Word so I can make a spread sheet of the information. Have a nice weekend! MJ “Shoot for the moon. 1. [IRL-ANTRIM] Fw: book by author James G Kenny
    2. Hi Basically James Kenny has written about the history of his family and the different branches - Magill, Gault, Montgomery, Beattie and other related families, going back to the 18th Century in County Antrim. He has written quite a few historical books. You can look up the titles on the LDS site www.familysearch.org James Gault Kenny is quite a well known Ballymena author and as far as I am aware is still alive. 2. I too have an interest in Raineys in Antrim, but mine appear to have been from the Randalstown area: Three brothers and a sister: James Rainey (1809-1876) Samuel Rainey (1828-1871) William Rainey (dates unknown) Martha Rainey (1811-?) The three brothers ended up in New Orleans. Let me know if you have any of these people in your tree. Thanks. I am hoping it might help my cousin and I who are researching the DALE family of the Ballymena area. Our Great Grandfather FERGUSON DALE was born in the Ballymena area in 1837 to a SAMUEL DALE & MARGARET BEATTIE. Any advice as to how to obtain this book would be welcome.
