    3. Desley You could try PRONI http://www.proni.gov.uk/ And the IGP http://www.igp-web.com/down/index.htm http://www.igp-web.com/IGPArchives/ It really does depend on when and what you are looking for. 3. Desley, It depends on the timeframe you are looking for and also which church they belonged to. There is no single complete list. First try the free options using www.familysearch.org or their pilot site at the same address, or their new site http://fsbeta.familysearch.org/s/collection/list The new site tends to be mainly civil records from 1864. I'd also recommend checking Genuki for various other resources in Down. Then I'd try the Irish Family History Foundation IFHF http://www.irish-roots.ie/ Click on the map and you'll see that they have data for Down. It's best to register for better searching. Also check the sources tab at the top of the Down screen to see parishes and timeframes covered by the data. Peter in Sydney

    3. Cherrie You may find that after Kilmainham Goal county Dublin, she was transferrred to a old ship in Cork Harbour. This would be more sheltered than the open harbour at Dublin. So Cork Harbour may have been the point where people who were convicted to transpotation to New South Wales while they waited for shipping. There was a Goal in Carrickfergus in the 1600's but I am not sure if it was still in use in the 1800's. The Newspaper Library in Belfast, may have their name listed or they could refer your to a Library in Dublin. 3. Mavis Limnaharry is about 2 to 3 kms west of Ahoghill. You may need to look for the history of Ahoghill rather than Limnaharry, to see what short of farming was taken place in the early 1800's. It is 386 acres in size, but you may need to look at a Griffith Valuation record. But that will be for the 1860's which will give you a break up of sub-titles within. They could be Flax, grains, potatoes and other food crops plus some livestock like a milking cow, pigs, etc. It is just north of the A42 Raod if you have a good motoring map. 1. [IRL-ANTRIM] Captain Adam Boyd of Antrim, Ireland
    2. Mike Boyd
    3. In the family tree that James Curran sent me in 1995, he had this structure for Captain Adam Boyd's family:- O1 Adam Boyd (I) - captain in the army sent by Charles I (reign 1625-1649) to Ireland. P1 Rev. Adam Boyd (II) Q1 Rev Adam Boyd (III) - b. 1666, Presby. clergyman, married Mary Norton, dau of Mr Norton, b 16xx, d 17xx, and had issue:- Children: R1 John Boyd R2 Rev. Adam Boyd (IV) Then some years ago, I was sent another tree which gave a second son for Captain Adam Boyd of a John Boyd, born in 1656 at some unknown location. P1 Capt Adam Boyd, bc 1616-1636 ( ), d / /16xx ( ), bu , m / /16xx, before 1656, (church, place), wife not given, dau of and (nee ) ???, b 16xx ( ), d / /16xx ( ), bu , and had issue:- [Lived: likely Ireland ] Q1 John Boyd, b / /1656 ( , Ireland), d / /17xx ( ), bu , m / /1686 (church, place), Miss Moore, dau of James Moore, Sr., of Ireland, b 16xx ( ), d / /17xx ( ), bu , and had issue:- [Lived: , Ireland? ] - As their son Samuel's [R1] eldest daughter is called Mary, it is possible that Miss Moore's first name might have been Mary. >From the 1994 IGI for the UK:- John BOYD (M)............ While the list of their children would appear similar their are some additions and deletions from both lists. Susan Gillim in her GIF file has 2 marriage dates for this couple. The first for April 1752 and the second for 11 February 1775. It would appear from the birth of the children that the former would be correct. I am therefore uncertain what the second date is in reference to. In an E-mail from Gillim, Susan <[email protected]> on 30 July 2002 from the attached GIF FILE Susan has he came with his father to America in 1736. As he is said to have died in Lancaster Co., PA This John would appear to be the same person who appears in the DAR Patriot Index of 1990 "John: b 1730 IR d p 1-4-1799 PA m Agnes Cooper Pvt PA" [from DAR file] While Mariann has provided this tree:- John BOYD (M)................. Children: 5. i. John Boyd b. abt 1716. ii. Mary Boyd. iii. Jane Boyd. You will notice that it provides an wife for the second Adam Boyd and they were married in Aberdeenshire. The first time any Scottish location has been given for this family. With their son Adam Boyd III, being born in Ballymoney, County Antrim. >From the IGI, it shows that two separate Boyd families were in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire from the late 1500's, so it is quite possible that Captain Adam Boyd might have come from this area of Scotland. However, when I was checking on the marriages of the Second and Third Adam Boyd, I noticed that the marriage dates were after the birth of their children. So Mike Boyd would question these dates or linkage to their children. Do any members of this list have any other data on 2nd Adam Boyd and his state wife Agnes Forsythe and any other children? Similarly for the third Adam Boyd and his stated wife Mary Norton and any other children of this family. Thank you Mike Boyd Historical Committee, HBS
