    2. Dolores Van Dam
    3. Hi Mesa: Have a hunch we are descended from the same Paul family. My grandmother was born in the Cullybackey area very near Ballymena in 1866. Her parents were Robert Paul and Mary Ann Lavender, both born around 1822. Robert was the son of Samuel James Paul, born 1778. , Samuel had at least 4 sons, Moses, James, John, and Robert. The father of Samue was William, born around 1750, probably in Scotland. There are many William Johns among the Paul family. At least half of the line moved to Iowa, mostly around the Grinnell area. If any of this sounds familiar, let me know. Dolores Mesa Winter <mesawinter@gmail.com> wrote: What a great roll call! 1. [IRL-ANTRIM] Roll call - JOHNSON & RITCHIE
    2. Margaret Campbell
    3. I would be interested to hear from anyone on the list researching the surnames JOHNSON and RITCHIE. I'm tracing Samuel JOHNSON born Newcastle, Northern Ireland who married Eleanor RITCHIE born 1797 - they married in 1st Presbyterian Church Donegore, Antrim on 10 June 1823. Eleanor migrated to Australia in 1864-65. Samuel (Snr), I believe, died in Northern Ireland. Their family consisted of Jane born 1825; John born Belfast 1826; Mary who died in infancy; James born 1828 and later went to USA; Nancy; Mary born 1834 and later went to USA; Mary born 1834; Samuel (my great grandfather) born Antrim 1840 and Joseph born Antrim 1842. To my knowledge John arrived in Australia 1853; Samuel and Joseph about 1864 and their mother Eleanor around 1864-65. Any information will be gratefully received.
