Hi Nevin, I have been trying to pin point where this is. Is Dunnycalter equivalent to Dunmakelter? Also do you know whether this would have been around Ballycastle? Thanks for any help sorting this out. Nevin -- Would you also email me the Fleming info, please. Thank you, DAnnye
The names Fleming and Chestnut (with many spelling variations) appear in South Carolina in the 1700s and again in Newton County, Ga., after 1820. These families were associated with the Presbyterians and left S.C. to found a church in Newton County. Does any of this ring a bell with your Antrim families? Thanks, Dannye
Nevin I obviously missed the start of this conversation -- probably the day I arrived home from a week away and found 350 entries on my emails. I gather that you have access to the Antrim Tithe Applotment Book and are kindly doing look ups for folk. If that is so, would it be possible to check on William/George Hanna for me and Sampson Murray? These people ended up in Co Down, or at least my line did, but I have not been able to find out anything other than a name in that County. Assuming they might have been elsewhere and Antrim is close to Magheralin it is an outside chance. Appreciate anything you can find. Jennifer
Murray can have Irish, Scottish or English roots. _http://www.knowlesclan.org/morrow.htm_ (http://www.knowlesclan.org/morrow.htm) Nevin

Hi Nevin, Would you be so kind as to look for any Campbell's in the Ballymoney area. Many thanks Lorraine
Hello Nevin, can I jump on the bandwagon too please if you have time. Many thanks Wendy. There has been recent mention of the name Parks and I found this immigrant: James Parks, born Tyrone, age 23 as of May 15, 1758, he is listed in the Pennsylvania Muster Rolls. Gordon Crooks
Dear Nevin and NICHOLSON party, First, thank you Nevin for all this - your fingers must be nearly worn down to the knuckles by now. Close inspection of the Tithe book at our Public Record Office reveals that the name was ANGUS NICHOLSON. The accepted modern name for the townland is Aghrunniaght. It lies a bit to the north of Armoy town. Angus Nicholson also appears in the 1803 "census" of coastal areas of County Antrim in the same townland - but with spelling "Aucrunaugh". This man was my Great-great-great-grandfather. His daughter Mary married William Chestnut (of nearby Mosside) in Armoy Presbyterian Church on 16 July 1839. I don't know any further details of the Nicholson family, but happy to provide data on the Chestnut lines. Norman > Nicholson's tithed in Co Antrim > > Nicholson, Eneas Parish : Armoy Townland : Alterinaght Year : 1832
Hi Folks: This URL will take you to the Army lists for the year 1758 in the then Provience of Pennsylvania and during the French and Indian wars. These were the regiments formed to fight in the war and the muster rolls. This could help those who might be trying to follow members of their family which came over here as in many cases it lists the age, occupation, and place of birth. You will note the majority of names are Ulsterscots. While many know of the American Revolution and it's war, the French & Indian was was fought for years and was very vicious and no quarter given. I would appreciate a look up for Whiteford in the tithe applotment if possible. I'm particularly interested in Alexander and/or James Whiteford but was wondering how common a name Whiteford was in the area. If there are any in the same area as Cain/Kain/Cane/Kane I would be overjoyed. Thanks very much to the kind lister who offered these. Anne
Hi Nevin, Would you kindly check the Tithe Applotment Book for Kennedy in the Layd area, ( or any other listings in Antrim too if possible ). Grateful Thanks, Merril Bourne, Auckland, New Zealand

Hi Nevin, I guess we all need help at one time or another. I'm looking for any Robert Dinsmore's or any George & Agnes Dinsmore's in Bushmills. Any help would be appreciated, Thank You Ron
I see an Elizabeth Emily Beale of Belfast born about 1844 married to John Boyd - familysearch.org No mention of Beale there in tithe record. There's also a Lizzie Beal bc1843 of Carrickfergus married to John Boyd. Same Beale? Griffith's Valuation c1861 Beale, George S. Parish : Carrickfergus Location : West Division Beale, George S. Parish : Shankill Location : St. George's Ward Townparks High Street Funnily enough there's also a George S Beale in Cork. Might these all relate to the same person? Someone who's in business? Beale is very much a name from the soth coast of Ireland. Nevin
