Jo: Saw your email and wondered about your connections to Cameron. I have a Thomas, William and James from the Ballymena area plus others after them in the 1829 - 1852. Would you have any connections with these names Brenda Anderson Brampton, Ontario Jo wrote: >Hello Nevin, >I hope you're still open to searches?! >I am looking for the Cameron name in Ballymena/Broughshane area and the Hill >name in Raloo/Larne. >Thanking you in anticipation >Jo >from the Gippsland Lakes > > > > >
Carol, There are no Connors listed in the Ahoghill parish. Nevin
Would the kind person doing lookups in the Tithe Applotment please look for CONNOR in Ahoghill parish? Dates before 1832. Thank you very much. Carol B.
Don't know unfortunately. I have Margaret Cain married to James Whiteford. They are listed on the 1841 Campbeltown Scotland Census as born in Ireland. Their children living with them were James and Catherine. They also had Margaret and possibly Rosanna who were not living with them at Census night 1841. The OPR for Campbeltown shows their son James was born in Ireland in May 1826 but christened in Campbeltown Scotland also in 15 May 1826 which suggests the family were in northern Ireland. They can't have been too far away from Scotland as they have got across from Ireland and to Campbeltown for James to have been christened there within a week or two of his birth. At this stage, I am just trying to find out where the Whiteford name was in the northern part of Ireland. I had hoped to be advised whether there were any Cains in the same general area as the Whitefords on the Tithe Aplotment, but unfortunately that wasn't provided. That would have helped to pinpoint the area for me. I still have digging to do. Hi I was wondering if anyone has access to the 1901 Census for Antrim or if you can get access to the census online. I have just recived the marriage cert of my wife's great grandparents who were married in 1904 John Rooney of 19 Riley Street Belfast and Alice Lavery of 13 Lagan Street Belfast I would like to find any other family members who may have been living with them in 1901 in that area or close by TIA Ron
Nevin, thank you for the Nicholson information for Antrim. Earliest Nicholson in my line that I know of by name was Michael Nicholson born c.1815. Have found a Michael in Donegal in GV 1857. Michael's son James born 1839-40 is my ggrandfather. David Nicholson "When they ask why we died, tell them because our father's lied" Rudyard Kipling upon his son's death in WWI

Hi there, Found my tree back in Ireland as I can find no Scottish records. I have a James Murray born 1812 Father John Murray Mother Mary Bryson. Got info from James Death Certificate. James Murray was a labourer. It says though on the death cert that his father John Murray was a teacher which I found unusual as James was illiterate. I also need some advice on where to start looking in Ireland. I thought that Murray was a Scottish name. Regards Sharon
Where about's in Scotland are your Murray's from? and what documents tell you they where from Ireland? Regards Morag
