    2. Familysearch has a William Eaton born 1808 in Killeheen, Limerick, Ireland. He was the son of Daniel and Margaret Lodwick Eaton. Could be his line. Oh, William was baptised in Oct. 1808 in Rathkeale, Limerick, Ireland. **************Create a Home Theater Like the Pros. Watch the video on AOL Home. 2. My cousin has been working on this for YEARS. He had also been working on the Tuller line for years - and out of the blue he must have seen a posting of mine - which I totally forgot about - on rootsweb - and sent me an e-mail. I have not changed addresses in 12 years. I had him sorted out in a matter of days. We will check the Church of Ireland. Thanks Jane **************Create a Home Theater Like the Pros. 2. Hi Linda, No - I think they were Protestants - at least when they came to America. Joseph McCormick/McCormac etc. d. ca 1758. His wife was Euphias McDowell - that has to be a name to remember! But for all we know they were Catholic in Ireland. I think, however, that they were originally Scottish. I am so glad you have had a response! Thanks soo much. 3. Hi Jan: I was revisiting my emails and discovered that I had not responded to yours. For this, I apologize. I am looking for any information concerning Rosanna Rea (B. 1810) who married William Eaton (B. 1808). William migrated to Newburgh, NY in 1848 and Rosanna and their children, David, (B. 1836), William (b. 1838), Margaret (B. 1840), Martha (B. 1843), Roseann (b. 1844), and James Stuart (B. Feb. 1848) migrated to Newburgh on June 4, 1848. I did discover a marriage license for William, the son (b. 1838) to Rachael Kerr. On the form, William listed his Birthplace as Ballymoney, County Antrim, Ireland. This has been the first lead I have had as to where William and Rosanna (Rea) lived. I am wondering if Rosanna and Thomas Rea could be brother and sister. I am planning a trip to Ireland possibly in August (if I can get my home and land sold). I lost my husband on July 4, 2006, due to cancer and I want to complete this project in his memory so that I can pass it on to his two sons (one of whom recently had a baby daughter.) I think it is important to know one's roots. I appreciate the information you sent. If you find additional information I would greatly appreciate it. I am hoping that a trip to Ballymoney, County Antrim, will unearth additional facts about the Eaton/Rea family. Again, please accept my sincerest apologies for not answering sooner. My 19 year old grandson has been fighting cancer and lost part of his leg and I have been spending a lot of time between here in Kansas and Kentucky where he is stationed at the army base, Ft. Knox, Kentucky. Best wishes, Donna J. 3. Can anyone tell me if the area of Rosemary Lane and the Entries was near the east side of Wincellar Entry. These notices were in a 1791 Belfast newspaper? Would there be anyway to learn the name of the bar owned by this James Burnside? July, 1791 Belfast Newsletter 1. List of persons certified proper to sell spirituous liquors by Belfast magistrates. James Burnside had premises in the area of Rosemary Lane and the Entries. 2. Notice of properties for sale. East side of Winecellar Entry, small dwelling house occupied by James Burnside. 2. Hi Leigh, I just read your e-mail. Would you mind, please, looking in your book of Antrim gravestones to see if there are any McCormicks. Do you have any 18th century records? I am looking for a Joseph McCormick, who died in Antirm ca 1758. He married Euphias McDowell. She came to Pennsylvania ca 1760. Their children were Henry, David, John, Alexander, Margaret and Catherine. If anybody has any suggestions for how I could go about doing research in Antrim I would love it. Thanks so much. 2. David Reed
    3. Hi All, Does anyone have any information available on Henry REED, m. Sarah MCCULLOCH (1727-1780?). I believe Henry was b. in Antrim, and died in Antrim, sometime prior to 1768, at which point, his widow left Ireland and came to Boothbay, Maine, USA. Henry was the second oldest son of retired English Colonel Andrew REED and Jean MURRAY REED. I'm looking for any additional information, and, ultimately, am trying to find out more about Colonel Andrew REED, his English background, time in the English Army, etc. I have no idea how to find any information about Colonel REED, and his time in the service. Thank-you very much, -David Reed Bangor, Maine USA

    3. Hi Leigh There are many McCalmonts, McCullochs and McMeekins from the Larne area. Some are mentioned in Felix McKillop's "History of Larne and East Antrim" There are quite a few of those names in Larne area cemeteries with some families dating back to the 1700s. I don't see an obvious connection to yours just yet. But, here's one that mentions New Zealand : In St Cedma's Cemetery McCulloch Erected by William McCulloch of New Zealand in memory of his father & mother William and Margaret McCulloch of Inver. Also his sister Maggie McCulloch, born May 1862, died aug 1910. The McCalmonts listed in St Cedma's were also connected to the Bridgman, Montgomery, Nickle and Ritchie families, if that means anything to you. The 1881 Larne directory included John McCalmont, merchant,54 Main St. William McMeekin, blacksmith, Pound St (also included in Coal Merchants) James McMeekin, carpenter, Ballycarry Mrs Jane McCullough, Clonlee, (listed under Gentry) The 1846 Larne directory shows: William McCalmont, printer You might want to visit Liam McFall's Co Antrim site at www.irishgenealogy.net Liam is from the Larne area and there is much emphasis on the Larne area. 3. Jane, Yes, I am having lots of problems finding where my Burnside families lived before they immigrated in 1817. I think I have become a real pest to every list. Are you familiar with the North Antrim Local Interest List? Since you know your McCormicks were in Giant's Causeway they might be the group for you. They concentrate on the northern part of Antrim and their members include historians and authors. If you are interested I will ask about your joining the group. I was asked to join and I believe that is the only way they take new listers but I don't know that for a fact. I am still struggling with whether my family came from Antrim or Down or perhaps both but NALIL has given me lots of ideas and clues to weed out who is NOT my family. By-the-way, concerning the tavern issue - my ggg grandfather came to PA in 1817 and by around 1830 owned a inn/tavern in Pittsburgh called the Black Horse Inn. I have business directories and also a damage claim from the horrible Pittsburgh fire. I just have to believe he was involved in the same business in N. Ireland but of course, I might be wrong. Let me know about NALIL. Linda -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: [email protected] > Hi Linda, > > I am on the Antrim list - and you are also interested in Pubs.
