    3. I have just been lucky enough to find an obituary for my ggrandfather, Dr James WT Smith, in The Lancet 1890. I was hoping that there might be a report in a Belfast paper or a death notice because it seems that he was well known in Belfast. I live in Perth Australia so would be unable to go to a local library but I would like to know where to look for this information - maybe on line or film. regards Barbara

    2. MARK LUSBY
    3. Dear Listers I am compiling a database of all BMDs for MCADOREYS in NI/IRE. My conclusions so far about the McAdoreys are that: in the early 1800s there were seven RC families living between Randalstown and Antrim ie: 1. John McADOREY and Catherine MCMULLAN Drumsough 2. Hugh MCADOREY and Bridget COLL/ECCLES Drumsough 3. John MCADOREY and Sarah DOBBINS Ballywee 4. Charles MCADOREY and unknown wife Lenagh 5. Daniel MCADOREY and Jane GRAHAM Gally Hill 6. Rowland MCADOREY and Mary Ann MCILVENNA 7. John MCADOREY and Margaret MADDEN Drummaul and Hannahstown Closer to Ballymena were two COI/Presbyterian families: 8. David McADOREY and Elizabeth BOYD Galgorm Parks 9. Patrick McADOREY and unknown Liminary McADOREYS are found worldwide: 10. Two MCADOREY brothers who served in the British Army in India: 11. Two RC McAdoreys brothers from Randalstown emigrated to Mobile Alabama in the early 1800s 12. A Presbyterian McAdorey weaver emigrated from Co Antrim to South Carolina in the late 1700s 13. A RC McAdorey carpenter emigrated to Halifax NS in the mid 1800s. I have not untangled the McAdoreys in Larne in the 1800s yet. Hope this is of interest. Any comments/information would be welcome Best wishes Mark Lusby www.lusbyfamilyhistory.com

    3. Good morning listers. I have a JOHN & JAMES GRAHAM from Ahoghill, Co. Antrim on board a ship bound for Australia in 1838. I am assuming the are brothers as they both state that they are from the same place. John born c 1806 [32 years old when the boat arrived in 1838] James born c 1808 [30 years old when the boat arrived in 1838] They both state that their father was CHARLES GRAHAM. Their wives are both named Mary and according to the shipping record - John's wife Mary's father is David Jackson, Tailor. James's wife Mary's father is I. *Marahan, Farmer. [On their son's marriage certificate Mary's surname is spelt *Macaughn and on his death certificate it is spelt *McCorcoran] I would dearly like to follow this family back into Ireland. I would appreciate information as to what records may be available for research. regards Val Queensland, Australia

    1. [IRL-ANTRIM] Randallstown parishes & Hamill family
    2. Thank you all for the replies about the parishes in Randallstown. Someone said my ancestor, Alexander Hamill, was from Randallstown. He was Presbyterian, a flour miller & merchant, married to Olivia Cook, had 5 known children, and died in Baltimore City, MD in 1878. I am looking for when & where he married Olivia, when they left Ireland, and the families they left behind. Wishing everyone luck with their searches (even me!) ************** Play online games for FREE at Games.com! All of your favorites, no registration required and great graphics – check it out! 1. [IRL-ANTRIM] Mary Jane Rainey and Rainey Family
    2. Jean Ross
    3. I am trying to find out any background genealogy, I can get on one Mary Jane Rainey, born Lisburn, Antrim, Ireland. LDS Library said Randallstown, Antrim, Ireland is probably the place of search. She was born 29 Mar 1827 in Lisburn, perhaps Randalstown, Antrim, Ireland. Her father was one James Rainey, born about 1800-1802 in ,Antrim, Ireland, and her mothers first name was Rose, born about 1801-1803, in ,Antrim, Ireland. I would like to fine the maiden last name or family name of Rose. I note in 2 small books I found in the LDS Library on Randallstown, that in 1955, there were a few families by the name of Rainey living there. Mary Jane Rainey and her family were of the Presbyterian faith. I have no idea when they came to the USA, but she was married, I belive on 5 Dec 1849 in ,Belmont County, Ohio. She married one Robert Johnson Pollock who died 5 Apr 1910. She was deceased in 1882 and buried in St. Clairsville, Ohio. Would there be someone in your area who might possess a Rainey Family Bible that could give that information or any other records too? I have not yet found the date this family left Ireland or name of ship, etc. I really haven't looked much into that yet. Thank you in advance for any help.
