To avoid embarrassment it is important to remember that "Scotch" is what you drink and "Scots" are the people. .................. and yet we have the Scotch Guards but the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, not forgetting delicious Scotch eggs (cooked egg in a ball of sausage meat), the beauty and variety of the English (!) language !
Sorry to be pedantic but it is the "Scots Guards" Formed in 1642 as King James I's (James VI of Scotland)Royal Guard. I'll join you in the Scotch Eggs mind you!
