To Sheila Block, a very profound "Thank You" for your informative piece on the destruction of the Four Courts records. You have put into perspective an understanding of what records were really lost during that unfortunate event and the impact, or lack there-of, on those of us of lesser known ancestry; or as you have defined it, "Us Bog Irishmen." It also defines exactly what difficulties we face as we attempt to rescue our downtrodden, but never-the-less, indomitable and defiant Irish ancestors from obscurity. For those of us who still place a value on human dignity and worth, we will turn every stone and dig through every nook and cranny in order to raise those spirits to the same level as those who sought to oppress them because this is what Freedom really means to the common man or woman. No title or amount of worth can separate us from what the Creator has bestowed upon all of us and that is our claim to a place on this earth no matter how humble, yet still sacred. This is what it means to be a human being, and furthermore, to be an Irish man or woman. Long live Ireland ! God bless, Tom Crane
