    3. If they were naturalized in NYC - even after 1900, then it might be held at 31 Chambers Street in Manhattan. I found one for my ancestor who was naturalized in 1921. Do you already have the index information? If so, just let us know which naturalization index you used. There are several and each one indexes a different microfilm. If the index shows that your ancestor naturalized after 1906, then you will need to go through the National Archives to obtain a copy. If you haven't attempted a search of the naturalization indices yet, I would recommend beginning with this one: WPA Soundex Index to Naturalization Petitions, 1792-1906 This index consists of 294 rolls of microfilm, but it covers all the courts in all 5 boroughs. You can find the microfilm at either the LDS or the New York Public Library. If I remember correctly, the films are chronological by year.
