I have a couple questions. First, if an Irish Catholic couple wanted to get married in about 1858 to 1863, would they have to apply to the NYC civil authorities for a licence? Second, where would church records be kept? I was just at the local Mormon Family History Center and noticed that not many Irish are listed in city marriage records. Thank you...........Roy Michel
