I'll try posting my needle in a haystack once again. Maybe this will ring a bell with someone. My gr-gr-Grandfather was Patrick Farrington, b. abt. 1818 in Ireland (where??) According to his Indiana obit, he came to NYC about 1839 (when, where???) He lived in NYC and married Mary Magher/Manghan/Meagher (b. May 1830-35 Ireland), (when, where??) They moved to South Bend, Indiana between 1849 and 1855 (his obit says abt. 1849, hers says in after marriage in 1855). The lived the rest of their days in South Bend. They appear in the 1860 census and later in South Bend (but not the 1850). Children, beginning in 1858 in Indiana, were John Peter, Mary, Patrick Joseph, Julia, Eliza, and Margaret. Throughout his life, Patrick was involved with the well and pump business, if that helps. I have no hints when he/they came to NY, where they lived, when/where they married, or when they left (or why). Does this ring a bell for anyone? Any clues gladly accepted! Bonnie in Chicago
