I was wondering about the Irish in the NYC police department. My grandfather Lester Aloyisius O'Donnell was a policeman for many, many years - a mounty I think they called him. He met my step grandmother from what I understand in Central Park while riding his horse and trying to rescue her from a purse snatcher, although it seems she handled it well enough on her own.
