Terry and Marge, Have either of you used Griffith's Valuations to try and pinpoint either of these families in Monaghan? I checked McLeer and there are only 13 McLeer heads of household in the entire county, 8 of them in the Civil Parish of Tedavnet, 3 of those in the same Townland of Drumcoo. There are 2 others in the Civil Parish of Clontibret. It should make the search less daunting. The Maguires are another case entirely. There are zillions of Maguires! Griffith's is probably no help there. Are you sure these families are CoI? I printed out the McLeer report from my Griffith's CD and could mail it if you send me your address off line.
