Patrick died before wife, so the immigration date in his obit is more likely to be accurate; hers was probably estimated by her children. Do you have his naturalization papers? Do you have the ship he arrived on? Do you have anything besides the obits? If they married 1849-1855, the probably had at least one child born in NYC. Have you checked Emigrant Savings bank for him?
