I've been following the post about Catholic records. I can't believe how hard it would be to get the records for my Buckley family who was from NYC. Most of my research involves the Philadelphia Archdiocese. While the PAHRC (Philadelphia Archdiocian Historical Research Center) is not perfect, they are very helpful and knowledgeable. If those who don't know their website it is: www.rc.net/philadelphia/pahrc/ They don't allow the public to research themselves but they charge $15. for the first hour and $10 an hour thereafter. The initial $15 charge usually covers it. What a shame the New York Diocese doesn't have good, if not great, genealogical records since alot of our ancestors had some connection. Susan Regan
