Just now got the message about John Ridge's tour of lower Manhattan and even if I weren't in Michigan, visiting our daughter and her family, I still couldn't have made it since home these days is LA and, oh yeah, it's Dec. 5, four days after the event. For all that, I would have loved to join the stroll. Not all Irish who emigrated to NYC were Catholic. My GM, as Irish as they come, was Catholic but my GF was Scots-Irish Presbyterian. My understanding is that more than a few of our forebears were Protestants and is there anyone there in Mr. Ridge's organization who might be able to help those of us descended from, gasp!, mixed marriages, to trace their ancestry?
