I have marriage info (March of 1899 in Brooklyn, NY) that I found on a passport application for my great Aunt, Wilhelmina HACHT and her groom Robert SCHALKENBACH. All attempts to locate the actual marriage record have failed. Do not know religious affiliation, but doubt that they were Catholic. Both were German. I strongly suspect that the marriage was not performed in a church -- a civil service seems more likely. All suggestions gratefully accepted.
