    3. I don't know about 1905 but in the 40's, some of my high school and college friends drove to Elkton, Maryland to marry. Apparently an immediate marriage license followed by an immediate Justice of the Peace marriage with no parental permission required. Also, no questions as to whether the bride was pregnant or not!
