    3. I've been watching this conversation but have been hesitant to chime in because I wasn't sure there was any connection to my Farrington family. There was a Patrick Farrington living at 34 City Hall Place where my Farringtons lived in the 1850s and I've assumed he was my ggf Thomas Farrington's brother as he came , according to Emigrant Savings Bank records, from the same area in Mayo. This record was a find as it also listed his parents name and also that his wife, Eleanor Harrington, was deceased. What interests me about the record below is that first, my ggrandfather's children were all baptized in St Andrew's, close to City Hall Place, and second, that my gggrandmother Bridget Farrington's maiden name was Mahon or Mangan or Meagher. I'm imagining that these folks were somehow related but don't know how. Here's a theory. Patrick was a widower who through his sister in law Bridget, met Mary Mahon, Mangan, Meagher and they married. I've looked for Patrick in later NYC records without any success. Perhaps he is YOUR Patrick and moved to the Midwest after that marriage. Thoughts? May 1830 Ireland). I've got very little to go on, other than the wording from Patrick's 1889 obituary in the South Bend, Indiana newspaper. ".He came to America from Ireland about fifty years ago, resided in New York city for ten years, married and then came to South Bend, which at that time was a small village." Mary's obituary, also from South Bend, says "She came to South Bend in 1855, soon after her marriage to Mr. Farrington" _______________________________________________ Email preferences: http://bit.ly/rootswebpref Unsubscribe https://lists.rootsweb.com/postorius/lists/[email protected] Privacy Statement: https://ancstry.me/2JWBOdY Terms and Conditions: https://ancstry.me/2HDBym9 Rootsweb Blog: http://rootsweb.blog RootsWeb is funded and supported by Ancestry.com and our loyal RootsWeb community
