I am trying to find where a girl was baptized in 1909. Alice McGinn was born 17 Nov 1909 to Owen McGinn and Mary Mahoney at 6608 West 47th Street which should have been between 11th and 12th Avenues. She was their 4 child and third to have a birth certificate. Her siblings were: Hannah McGinn born 9 Mar 1903 and baptized at St. Raphael on West 41st Street between 10th-11th Avenues on 22 Mar 1903 Catherine McGinn was born 25 Jan 1905 at 600 West 46th Street between 11th and 12th Avenues and baptized 29 Jan 1905 at Holy Cross at 329 West 42nd Street between 8-9th Avenues. (Enumerated Jun 1905 at 543 West 43rd and died 474 West 43rd Street 28 Nov 1905) Margaret McGinn was born 2 Jun 1907 at 503 West 37th Street between 10-11th Avenues and baptized at St. Raphael on West 41st Street between 10th-11th Avenues on 9 Jun 1907. Alice McGinn was born 17 Nov 1909 at 608 West 47th Street. She was enumerated at 604 West 45th Street in Apr 1910 and died 26 May 1911 with former residence before hospitalization being 539 West 40th Street. John McGinn was born 1 Feb 1912 and baptized at St. Raphael on West 41st Street between 10th-11th Avenues 18 Feb 1912. Mary McGinn was born 4 Sep 1914 and baptized at Holy Cross at 329 West 42nd Street between 8-9th Avenues, 13 Sep 1914. I have viewed the St. Raphael register twice and Alice is not there. I have had Holy Cross check their records three times and she is not there. They also have St. Clemens Mary which was on West 40th between 10th and 11th and she was not there. Assumption was between 9th and 10th at West 49th Street but she was not baptized there nor Sacred Heart on West 51st Street between 9-10th Aves. They also checked St. Benedict the Moor and S. Ambrose which were in the lower 50s but she did not show up. As you can see above these people were Catholics and baptized their children in a timely manner. I plan to contact St. Malachy on West 49th between 7th and 8th and also maybe St. Clare down on West 36th between 9th-10th Aves. I would love to get input from someone as to where this girl might have been baptized or might she have been baptized at home and pulled through but never was registered in the parish as baptized.
