My grandfather came to NY from Ireland in 1893 with nothing & lived at 332 E. 94 St., NY until he married in 1899. They moved to 1507 Lexington Ave.(about 98 St) after that & raised 7 kids in 5 rooms until 1926 when they moved to Queens.
