I can't give you an exact reference but I have ' The Epic of New York City, which gives the history of around 400 years including the history of the Irish. I was written by Edward Robb Ellis. Publisher is Old Town Books. The ISBN # is0-88029-516-3. It was first published in 1966 and my copy is 1990. It is an excellent book. I couldn't put it down.
