It's Labor Day weekend here in the States. I've been wondering: what is the most unusual and/or interesting occupation that you've discovered in your research? Or have you discovered an occupation or trade that runs in your family and maybe you never knew it? It was very surprising to learn that all the men in one line of mine, worked in various shipyards over several generations. For example, my father was amazed to learn that his first job as a ship-fitter was the same occupation once held by his father and grandfather (neither of whom he never knew).
