Ken Burns' award-winning documentary, 'The Civil War,' starts airing again tonight on PBS and runs through Thursday night. If you've already seen it, you can re-acquaint yourself with the haunting music, photographs and readings. If you've haven't seen it yet, I can't urge you strongly enough to find the time to watch it. Burns does a phenomenal job of covering just about every battle & moment of this horrific struggle. Of special interest to this list is the in-depth coverage given to the 1863 New York City draft riots. (That should air on Tuesday night.) Please check your local listings for air time. For our friends outside the US, you may be able to find the video series at your local video store under 'Documentary'. Also, PBS will be airing Burns' Brooklyn Bridge documentary soon.
