    2. The Irish-American was published in New York City. The news, marriage and death notices from Ireland were gathered by their staff from Irish newspapers and/or reporters they had in Ireland. (For example, the Irish-American had an office in Dublin.) So, would the families appearing in the announcements have had family in the US? Probably, due to the large influx of Famine immigrants. (Even if it was just a distant relative.) The names that appear in the Information Wanted column were for people who had 'disappeared' somewhere in the US or Canada. Take care, Tracy
