Forwarded from strovink@frazmtn.com : Haven't seen a posting on this lately. Hope it isn't a repeat. Found this fun site which has an 1820 Painting of Brooklyn depicting life in the village at that time. The picture takes a long time to load, 3-4 minutes on my slow computer but I found it was worth waiting for. The "game" link on the page, when it finally comes up, will identify the characters in the painting and explain their role in the community. This even gives their names. Thought those of you that are researching that time and this area might enjoy it. Mary Researching: Wm H Barker, Joshua P Gustavus Barker, Eliz Stewart The URL is : http://www.brooklynexpedition.org/brooklyn/Default.htm Click on the bottom circle labeled "neighborhoods" Click on "Brooklyn Heights". Click on the "Magnifier" to enlarge the picture, Takes awhile to come up. When the picture is loaded, float the curser over the chickens & they will move. There is a " game" link at the top left. This will actually identify the people in the painting. ENJOY!! Mary Strovink Daukas
