    1. [IRISH-NYC] "Tunes of Glory"
    2. On Saturday, April 6 at 2 pm, midtown Manhattan will be taken over by a drum and pipe parade in honor of National Tartan Day. An estimated 10,000 pipers & drummers are expected for this record-breaking parade! The parade will span 36 city blocks up Sixth Avenue and through Central Park. The FDNY Emerald Society has already distributed the music and it is reported to contain seven sets in three groupings: 'Green Hills of Tyrol', 'The Battle's O'er' and 'Lochanside' in 3/4 slow time; 'Farewell to the Creeks' and 'Cock of the North' in fast 6/8 time; and 'Scotland the Brave' and 'Minstrel Boy' in common 4/4 time. Instructions are to play each tune once and repeat the set until instructed to stop! The brigade of pipers will be led up Sixth Avenue by actor Sean Connery. The fund-raising goal of the event is $1 million for cancer-care organizations throughout the US and the UK. It is reported that the FDNY Emerald Society will be honored. Pipe & Drum bands from most Scottish-American and Irish-American organizations will be represented! The parade will be televised both in the US and the UK. Stations haven't been announced.
