    1. [IRISH-NYC] CREAN-BREEN
    2. My family of Creans came to New York in the 1860's. My great grandmother Mary, brought her children over after the death of her husband. She settled on the west side and lived there all of her life. My grandmother, Catherine Breen, came over in 1893, and met my grandfather in New York. Ironically, they came from two nearby towns in County Kerry. She was from Castleisland, and my grandfather, Nicholas was from Currow, but never met each other until they arrived in New York. My father, Cornelius, and all of his brothers were born in the area of W. 56 St. and Columbus Circle. Like most family's of that day, they migrated to Queens in the early 20's, and settled in the Jackson Heights, Elmhurst area. Dotty McManus
